FLORIDA SUPREME COURT: New officer named to Board overseeing Florida Bar admissions

Florida Supreme Court issued the following announcement on Dec. 30.

Deborah Lynn Curry, CPA, of Tallahassee, Florida, has been appointed to membership on the Florida Board of Bar Examiners by the Supreme Court of Florida to succeed retiring Member Robert D. Shaw, Jr., of Orlando, Florida. Her term of office will extend through October 31, 2022.

Ms. Curry was born in Houston, Texas. She attended Texas A&M-Corpus Christi State University and received her Bachelor of Business Administration, she also attended Del Mar College and received her Associate of Arts Degree in Accounting. She is President/CEO of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Inc., a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Inc. and President-elect of CPA Society Executives Association Board of Directors. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Florida and Texas.

The Florida Board of Bar Examiners is an administrative agency of the Supreme Court of Florida charged with the responsibility of enforcing the Rules of the Supreme Court Relating to Admissions to The Bar. This involves the supervision of character background investigations as well as the administration and grading of the Florida Bar Examination.
