Holland & Knight LLP issued the following announcement on Sept. 25.
Holland & Knight advised AdventHealth on its multi-year strategic partnership with Moffitt Cancer Center to provide world-class cancer treatment and better access to cancer prevention, education, cancer screenings and early phase clinical trials. This phase of their strategic affiliation was formally announced on September 17.
The two organizations plan to establish a clinical research facility and chemotherapy/immunotherapy infusion program at AdventHealth Celebration in Central Florida focused on solid tumor malignancies and malignant hematology, which will allow local patients to receive critical treatments closer to home.
At AdventHealth Celebration, researchers from both organizations will conduct early phase clinical trials to develop new drugs. It will be the first and only Phase I site in Central Florida. The partnership extends to AdventHealth's West Florida Division as well, where a new Moffitt outpatient satellite cancer center is under construction at AdventHealth Wesley Chapel.
AdventHealth is a faith-based, non-profit health care system headquartered in Altamonte Springs, Florida, that operates facilities within nine states across the United States.
