GREENBERG TRAURIG LLP: Brian Koch Installed as Federal Bar Association Broward County Chapter President

Personal injury lawyer

Greenberg Traurig LLP issued the following announcement on Sept. 19.

Brian H. Koch, a shareholder in the Fort Lauderdale office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A., was installed as president of the Broward County Chapter of the Federal Bar Association on Sept. 18 at the Tower Club in Fort Lauderdale.

The Broward County Chapter of the Federal Bar Association serves federal lawyers and members of the federal judiciary in Fort Lauderdale and throughout the Southern District of Florida. Local chapters monitor and keep members informed of current federal issues, provide opportunities for scholarship and education, and events for judges and lawyers to interact - professionally and socially.

“I am honored to serve as president of the Federal Bar Association’s Broward County Chapter and look forward to furthering our mission of improving and protecting the federal judicial system,” Koch said. “My goal is to build on the success that the Broward Chapter has had and continue to provide its members with the significant professional, networking, and education opportunities they have come to expect.”

The Broward Chapter of the Federal Bar was recognized as the National Chapter of the Year by the Federal Bar Association in 2018. Koch led the Broward Chapter’s involvement with a national pilot program bringing high school students to the courthouse to engage in civil discourse, meet with practitioners and judges, and participate in mock trials.

“With three new federal district judges in Fort Lauderdale since April 2019, there will be more opportunities to interact with and promote the interests of the federal judiciary,” Koch said.

Koch is a shareholder in Greenberg Traurig's Fort Lauderdale Litigation Practice and has a diverse commercial litigation practice. He has represented regional, national and international clients in state and federal courts. He routinely litigates partnership and shareholder disputes, insurance disputes, employment disputes and contract related issues. Representing both plaintiffs and defendants, he has broad experience handling all aspects of litigation including motion practice, trial, and appeals.
