Locke Lord has promoted Brendan Herbert, a member of the Firm’s Consumer Finance Practice Group based in Miami and West Palm Beach, to Partnership level.
Herbert is a litigator with an emphasis on representation of lenders and servicers in the consumer finance industry. He represents clients in state and federal courts across the country at both the trial and appellate levels. Herbert has measured trial experience and collaborates with his clients on formulating creative litigation strategy to defend claims pursued by vexatious and repeat litigants. He routinely provides guidance to his clients to ensure regulatory compliance and litigation or enforcement action avoidance, and manages nationwide litigation related to lender and servicer liability regarding construction, renovation and rehabilitation loan products.
Herbert was recognized as a Top Lawyer for Commercial Litigation in the 2019 South Florida Legal Guide, and has been named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers since 2014.
He received a juris doctor degree from the University of Miami School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in government from Dartmouth College, where he played on the varsity basketball team.
