Nelson Mullins issued the following announcement on Feb. 7.
Daniel Newman, a partner in Nelson Mullins' Miami office, has been chosen as treasurer for the 2019 Florida Securities Dealers Association Board of Governors. Newman, who also served a term as FSDA's secretary, is an experienced litigator of business and securities-related litigation in complex state and federal matters.
"The FSDA Board is one of the most knowledgeable and dedicated groups with which I have had the pleasure to work," Newman said in a Sept. 2018 interview for FSDA's Member Spotlight feature. "While many organizations talk about ways to improve their industry and the surrounding community, the FSDA effectively and thoughtfully takes action."
The FSDA has more than 60 board members, including professionals from broker-dealer firms, investment advisers, law firms, and consultants. The organization, founded in 1933, aims to be the voice of the securities industry in Florida by ensuring the state's regulation and legislation is fair and balanced.
Newman's practice focuses on securities litigation in federal and state courts and counsel and representation in business litigation and securities regulation. He has been recognized by the Best Lawyers in America, Florida Legal Elite, Florida Super Lawyers, and the South Florida Legal Guide for his commercial litigation and securities regulation practice.
