ORLANDO — A customer is suing Wal-Mart, alleging negligence led to injuries to the plaintiff.

Jerome Rogers filed a complaint Jan. 29 in Orange County Circuit Court against Wal-Mart Stores East LP, alleging the defendant failed to maintain the premises of its Orlando store in a reasonably safe condition and correct any dangerous condition to keep invitees safe.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 1. 2018, Rogers was lawfully at a Wal-Mart, 2715 S. Orange Ave., Orlando, when he stepped on wet floor, slipped and fell. As a result, Rogers says he sustained bodily injuries, causing pain, disfigurement, mental anguish and the expense of hospitalization.

The plaintiff alleges Wal-Mart Stores East failed to exercise due care to maintain the premises in a safe condition, failed to adequately inspect the premises and failed to warn invitees of the dangerous condition.

Rogers seeks trial by jury and damages in excess of $15,000. He is represented by attorney Paul M. Adams of Schwed, Adams & McGinley PA in Palm Beach Gardens.
