Florida Office of the Attorney General issued the following announcement on Jan. 31.
Our personal injury attorney, Melvin B. Wright, has been inducted as a Fellow of the International Society of Barristers (ISOB). Mr. Wright has been voted Florida’s Legal Elite by Florida Trend and one of the SuperLawyers in the State of Florida by Law and Politics for more than a consecutive decade, but his induction into the ISOB is impressive in another way. This notable institution does not let attorneys apply for membership. Instead, they must be nominated by someone who is an existing fellow at ISOB.
After nomination, the ISOB makes an inquiry to evaluate the nominee’s skills as a trial lawyer and their integrity on both a professional and personal level. The process is then moved to the other Barristers in that region along with statements from judges before whom he or she has tried cases. We’re proud to have our Attorney Melvin Wright in this prestigious organization and know he’ll do well within the ISOB.
The ISOB emphasizes the importance of fellowship among attorneys despite orientations as defendants’ or plaintiffs’ advocates. The organization works to promote advocacy excellence, ethics, and goodwill within the role of litigation. What makes the ISOB stand apart from similar groups is that the members’ spouses or significant others are encouraged to participate in ISOB activities fully.
