CLEARWATER — Two motorists are suing Nahiomy Lopez Rivera, a driver, citing alleged negligence.
Christopher Quizhpe and Kari Morrel filed a complaint on Jan. 15 in the 6th Judicial Circuit of Florida - Pinellas County against Rivera alleging that the defendant failed to operate a motor vehicle in a careful and prudent manner.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Oct. 31, 2017, Quizhpe was a passenger in a motor vehicle driven by Morrel when they were involved in a collision with Rivera's vehicle in Clearwater. They suffered bodily injury and resulting pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish and expenses of hospitalization, medical and nursing care and treatment.
The plaintiffs hold Nahiomy Lopez Rivera responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently operated or maintained the motor vehicle so that it collided with their motor vehicle.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek damages that exceed $15,000, exclusive of interests, costs and attorneys’ fees. They are represented by Christian Denmon of Denmon Pearlman in St. Petersburg.
