Florida woman sues driver, alleging negligence

CLEARWATER — A Florida woman is suing David Edstrom, a driver, citing alleged negligence.

Kimba Melton filed a complaint on Jan. 8 in the 6th Judicial Circuit of Florida-Pinellas County against David Edstrom alleging that he breached his duty to operate his motor vehicle in a reasonably prudent and careful manner,.

According to the complaint, Melton alleges that on Feb. 5, 2017, she was involved in an automobile collision with Edstrom's motor vehicle on US 19 near its intersection of Nebraska Avenue in Pinellas County. She suffered bodily injury and resulting pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses and loss of earnings. 

The plaintiff holds David Edstrom responsible because he allegedly negligently maintained, operated and/or controlled his motor vehicle such that it collided with hers.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in excess of $15,000, exclusive of interests, costs, and attorney’s fees. She is represented by Paul Puzzanghera and Christopher L. Hamblen of Puzzanghera Law Offices in Clearwater.
