GREENBERG TRAURIG: Seth J. Entin Presents at 37th Annual International Tax Conference & Boot Camp

Meeting 08

Greenberg Traurig issued the following announcement on Jan. 18.

Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A. Shareholder Seth J. Entin recently presented at the Florida Bar/Florida Institute of CPAs 37th Annual International Tax Conference & Boot Camp held Jan. 9-11, 2019, in Miami, Florida.

Entin, who is based in the firm’s Miami office, presented “Income Tax Planning for a Foreign Inheritance After TCJA: Working with the New Regime,” which addressed international tax reform, new rules, pitfalls, and planning strategies that apply to a U.S. person inheriting foreign companies from a nonresident alien.

“The Tax Cuts and Job Act affects virtually all taxpayers, and can be difficult to understand for those who have more complicated tax issues such as a foreign inheritance,” said Entin, who is a member of Greenberg Traurig’s Tax Practice. “Proper planning and the right strategies can go a long way toward successfully navigating the impact of the Act’s new rules.”

Entin focuses his practice on federal income taxation, with an emphasis on international taxation. He is an Adjunct Professor of International Taxation at the University of Miami School of Law, a fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel, and regularly speaks at national and international tax conferences. Entin is also the Director of International Tax Law for the Florida Bar Tax Section.
