Car accident 21

CLEARWATER — A motorist is suing another driver, alleging negligence caused a crash that injured the plaintiff.

Tiffany Scott filed a complaint Jan. 3 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Merl Yutzy, alleging the motorist failed to exercise standard care and skill in operating a vehicle.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 9, 2018, Scott was driving in a northerly direction on 34th Street North at or near the 30th Avenue North in St. Petersburg. The suit says a vehicle carelessly operated by Scott collided with the plaintiff's vehicle. The suit says the crash caused Scott to expend money for the care and treatment of her injuries, and that she experienced pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, physical impairment, significant scarring and disfigurement, and aggravation of pre-existing physical conditions.

The plaintiff alleges Yutzy failed to adequately maintain and operate a motor vehicle so as not to cause harm, and failed to be on a proper lookout for other vehicles.

Scott seeks trial by jury, judgment in excess of $15,000, plus costs of suit. She is represented by attorney Joseph W. Chambers of Chambers Law Group PA in St. Petersburg.
