CLEARWATER — A customer is suing a St. Petersburg Save-A-Lot store, alleging negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.

Rhonda Sutton filed a complaint Jan. 3 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Moran Foods LLC, ding business as Save-A-Lot, and PF Numismatic, alleging failure to provide a safe environment for business invitees.

According to the complaint, on March 13, 2017, while Sutton was at a Save-A-Lot store, 4350 Sixth St. S., St. . Petersburg, she slipped and fell on a puddle of water that had accumulated on the store’s floor from a leak in the roof. The suit says Sutton sustained injuries, resulting in pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of the enjoyment of life, medical expenses and aggravation of a previous existing condition.

The plaintiff alleges Save-A-Lot and PF Numismatic failed to inspect, maintain, or repair the roof of the premises, allowed water to remain on the store’s floor and failed to warn Sutton and similarly situated individuals of the dangerous condition.

Sutton seeks trial by jury and damages in excess of $15,000. She is represented by attorney Jason Dollard of Schwed, Adams & McGinIey PA in Palm Beach Gardens.
