CLEARWATER — A Pinellas County woman is suing a motorist, alleging negligence caused a crash that injured the plaintiff.

Ashlie Leonhardt filed a complaint Dec. 21 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Clark Mattice, alleging the motorist failed to exercise standard care and skill in the operation of a vehicle.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 22, 2017, Loenhardt was traveling along Gulf To Bay Boulevard near the intersection of Hercules Avenue in Pinellas County. The suit says Mattice operated his 2014 Jeep in a manner that caused him to collide with the plaintiff's vehicle.

Leonhardt says the crash caused her to sustain serious and permanent injuries, pain and suffering, inconvenience, physical impairment, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of earning capacity, medical expenses and aggravation of a physical defect.

The plaintiff alleges Mattice failed to adequately maintain and operate his Jeep  so as not to cause harm and failed to be on a proper lookout for other vehicles.

Leonhardt seeks trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000, plus court costs and all other just relief. She is represented by attorney Royce C. Haddad Jr. of Haddad & Associates in Clearwater.
