CLEARWATER — An architecture contractor is suing a St. Petersburg property owner, alleging breach of agreement and unjust enrichment.

Haskell Architects & Engineers PA filed a complaint Dec. 19 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against International House Tampa Bay LLC, alleging failure to fulfill its obligations under the terms of the contract.

According to the complaint, on April 6, 2017, International House contracted Haskell to furnish labor, services, or materials and other construction services for the defendant's 184-bed housing community at 99th Avenue North in St. Petersburg. After all proper offsets, credits and payments, the suit says, the amount of $247,694.76 remains due and owing.

Plaintiff says it timely filed a claim of lien against the defendant's property and that International House Tampa Bay voluntarily accepted and retained the benefit conferred by Haskell without paying full compensation.

Haskell Architects & Engineers seeks trial by jury, an order for the defendant to recognize the plaintiff's lien claim of $247,694.76, plus interest, court costs, attorney fees and all other just and proper relief. It is represented by attorney Pamela E. Chavez of PC Law Firm PA in Hallandale Beach.
