Motorist alleges another driver's negligence caused St. Petersburg crash

CLEARWATER — A motorist is suing another driver, alleging negligence caused a crash that injured the plaintiff.

June E. Smith filed a complaint Dec. 18 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Reyad Mohamed Essa, alleging the defendant failed to operate a motor vehicle in a careful and prudent manner.

According to the complaint, on June 26, Smith was driving in St. Petersburg when she was injured in a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of 58th Street South and Central Avenue. The suit says Essa negligently operated or maintained his motor vehicle so that it collided with Smith's car. 

Smith says she sustained bodily injuries, resulting in pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish and loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life. 

Smith seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, interest court costs and attorney fees. She is represented by attonrey J. Stanford Morse of Law Offices of J. Stanford Morse PA in St. Petersburg.
