ORLANDO — Property owners are suing Security First Insurance Company, an insurer, citing alleged breach of contract.

Madeline and Rafael Martinez filed a complaint on Dec. 11 in the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court for Orange County against Security First Insurance Company alleging that it refused to provide coverage for insured property.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Dec. 21, 2017, the Martinez's property, located at 107 Underhill Loop Drive in Orlando, Orange County, was damaged directly and/or indirectly by water due to a broken and/or leaking pipe, which required necessary repairs and replacements as well as appropriate cleaning and other remedial measures, and Security First Insurance Company refused to provide them with payment of insurance benefits for their damaged property.

The plaintiffs hold Security First Insurance Company responsible because it allegedly failed to provide proof that it was not responsible for the payment of damages and/or loss to their insured property, and failed to pay the requested amounts for repairs and/or replacement.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendant for damages, interest, attorney's fees, costs and any other such relief that the Court deems just. They are represented by Thomas J. Morgan Jr. of Morgan Law Group PA in Coral Gables.
