ORLANDO — An Orange County motorist is suing a vehicle operator and owner, alleging their negligence caused a crash that injured the plaintiff.

Steven Morales filed a complaint Dec. 11 in Orange County Circuit Court against Kenneth Knief and Bailey Muckel, alleging failure to exercise standard care and skill in the operation of a motor vehicle.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 11, Morales was driving along South Semoran Boulevard near the intersection of Hoffner Avenue in Orlando. The suit says a motor vehicle operated by Muckel with the permission of the owner, Knief, collided with Morales' vehicle.

The lawsuit states Morales sustained bodily pain, leading to suffering, disability, physical impairment, disfigurement, mental anguish, inconvenience, loss of enjoyment of life, aggravation of an existing condition, medical expenses and loss of earnings.

Morales alleges Knief and Muckel failed to adequately maintain and/or operate a motor vehicle so as not to cause harm, and failed to be on a proper lookout for other vehicles.

Morales seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000 and all other proper relief. He is represented by attorney Joseph H. Shaughnessy of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
