ORLANDO — A patient is suing an Orange County licensed chiropractor, alleging medical negligence.

Jennifer Knopf filed a complaint Dec. 11 in Orange County Circuit Court against Dr. Andrew M. Sinclair and Get In Line Inc. alleging failure exercise the standard care and skill required of medical providers and facilities.

According to the complaint, in June 2016, when Knopf started treatment with the defendants for a therapeutic massage, she heard a popping sound as Sinclair adjusted her neck. The suit says Sinclair did so without Knopf's permission and despite her instructions not to perform such a procedure. As a result, the plaintiff says, she now experiences ongoing pain and discomfort, headaches and neck and shoulder pain.

The plaintiff alleges Sinclair and Get In Line failed to appreciate the patient’s concerns, did not refrain from performing certain adjustments and failed to obtain appropriate informed consent.

Knopf seeks trial by jury, damages that exceed $15,000, exclusive of interest, court costs and attorney fees. She is represented by attorney Christopher J. Bilecki of Paul / Knopf / Bigger in Winter Park.
