Orlando homeowner alleges insurance company failed to cover property damage

ORLANDO — An Orlando property owner is suing an insurance company, alleging breach of contract.

Kristina Troy filed a complaint Dec. 5 in Orange County Circuit Court against St. Johns Insurance Company, Inc., alleging failure to pay full value for roofing and/or construction services to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 25, 2017, Troy's property at 2610 Nela Ave., Orlando, was damaged by a covered peril that created damage to the roof. The plaintiff alleges St.. Johns Insurance, although assigning a claim number, has failed and/or refused to reimburse Troy pursuant to the policy.

Troy seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000 for all unpaid and overdue insurance benefits with interest, court costs, attorney fees and all other just remedies. She is represented by attorney Robert W. Parsons of Cohen Law Group in Maitland.
