ORLANDO — A vehicle driver is suing a motorist, citing alleged negligence.

Yaquelin J. Rios Gonzalez filed a complaint on Dec. 6 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida-Orange County against Carmen E. Arango alleging that the defendant breached her duty to operate her motor vehicle in a safe manner.

According to the complaint, on July 12, 2018, Yaquelin J. Rios Gonzalez was a restrained driver stopped at a stop sign on Chancellor Drive at the intersection with Premier Road when her vehicle was allegedly struck in the rear by defendant Arango's vehicle.

As a result, plaintiff claims, she sustained physical injuries, disability, inconvenience and the expense of hospitalization.

The plaintiff holds Carmen E. Arango responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to observe her surroundings and failed to stop her motor vehicle for traffic at a stop sign, and as a result struck the rear of plaintiff’s motor vehicle.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for damages in excess of $15,000 together with costs, interest and other such relief deemed just and proper by the Court. She is represented by Zachary A. Leacox of McBride, Scicchitano & Leacox, PA in Orlando.
