Customer alleges Orlando clothing store's negligence led to injuries

Lawsuits

ORLANDO — A customer is suing an Orlando retail establishment, alleging negligence caused head injuries to the plaintiff.

Taj Marie Grant filed a complaint Dec. 6 in Orange County Circuit Court against Ross Dress For Less Inc., alleging failure to provide a safe environment for its business invitees.

According to the complaint, on March 22, 2016, Grant was at Ross Dress for Less in Orlando for the purpose of purchasing various items. The suit says heavy bedding products on elevated racks struck Grant in the head, causing serious injuries, pain and suffering, loss of wages and loss of wage-earning capacity.

The plaintiff alleges Ross Dress For Less failed to inspect and maintain the display of merchandise, and failed its duty to warn invitees of the dangerous condition.

Grant seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000 and plus court costs. She is represented by attorney Michael P. Weisberg of Miami.
