CLEARWATER — A Hillsborough County woman is suing Hertz and a rental car driver, alleging automobile negligence and vicarious liability in a vehicle crash.

Christine Perez filed a complaint Dec. 4 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Lucio Paolo Pianciola Rosso of Argentina, individually, and Hertz Vehicles LLC, alleging Rosso negligently collided the Hertz motor vehicle with Perez's car.

According to the complaint, on May 25, Perez was traveling on Memorial Causeway in Clearwater when Rosso negligently operated or carelessly maintained his Hertz rental motor vehicle, causing it to collide with Perez's car.

The suit says Perez sustained severe, continuing and permanent injuries and has incurred expenses in the care and treatment of her injuries. The plaintiff alleges Rosso should have carefully operated the Hertz motor vehicle in regard for the safety of others, including Perez..

Perez seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000 and court costs. She is represented by Paul B. Catania of Catania & Catania PA in Tampa.
