Orlando motorist alleges Orange County couple caused crash

ORLANDO — An Orlando motorist is suing a vehicle owner and operator, alleging negligence caused a crash that injured the plaintiff.

Myra Watkins filed a complaint Nov. 29 in Orange County Circuit Court against Jesus Granados and Tammy Granados, alleging failure to follow applicable safety guidelines and regulations.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 24, while Watkins was operating a motor vehicle along Old Winter Garden Road in Orlando she was stopped at to a traffic signal. The suit says, a vehicle operated by Tammy with the consent of Jesus Granados failed to stop and collided with Watkins' vehicle.

Watkins says the collision caused her to suffer significant and permanent loss of an important bodily function, scarring, aggravation of an existing disease, pain, impairment, inconvenience, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses and lost wages. 

The plaintiffs alleges Tammy Granados failed to timely apply her brakes, failed to pay attention to traffic and failed keep a proper lookout for other vehicles.

Watkins seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, plus costs, interest and all other just and equitable relief. She is represented by attorney Logan Young of Dan Newlin & Partners in Orlando.
