CLEARWATER — A Pinellas County woman is suing a Clearwater apartment complex operator, alleging negligence caused her to fall down a flight of stairs.

Christal Cummings filed a complaint Nov. 27 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against 2015 Rogers LLC, alleging failure to exercise reasonable care for the safety of its invitees.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 19, 2017, Cummings was a business visitor upon the defendant's premises at 2025 Rogers St., Clearwater, when she fell down the stairwell due to the steps being slippery. The suit says Cummings was injured in and about her body and extremities and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges 2015 Rogers failed to adequately maintain the stairwells and failed to adequately warn its invitees of the danger of falling when using the stairwell.

Cummings seeks trial by jury, damages that exceed $15,000, exclusive of interest, court costs and attorney fees. She is represented by attorney Joseph A. Kopacz of Morgan & Morgan, Tampa, PA.
