Car accident 28

ORLANDO — An Orange County motorist is suing a paving company and its driver, alleging negligence and vicarious liability.

Sean Lamanna filed a complaint Nov. 20 in Orange County Circuit Court against Troy Joseph Balcom and Sunray Paving & Construction Company, alleging failure to follow applicable safety guidelines and regulations.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 27, 2016, Lamanna was operating a motor vehicle on University Boulevard near the intersection of Quadrangle Boulevard in Orlando. The suit says Balcom negligently operated and/or maintained a motor vehicle owned by his employer Sunray, so that it collided with Lamanna's car.

As a result, Lamanna says he sustained bodily injuries, pain and suffering both physical and mental, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, inconvenience, aggravation of an existing condition, medical expenses, loss of earnings, loss of ability to lead and enjoy a normal life, and he lost the use of his vehicle.

The plaintiff alleges Balcom and Sunray Paving & Construction failed to reasonably inspect, maintain and repair its motor vehicle, and diminished the use and value of Lamanna's vehicle.

Lamanna seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, and all other proper relief. He is represented by attorney Mark R. Ahrens of Todd K. Miner PA in Orlando.
