ORLANDO — A customer is suing an Orlando restaurant, alleging negligence led to a slippery floor that caused the plaintiff to fall.

Shawnette Porter filed a complaint Nov. 20 in Orange County Circuit Court against Sunshine Restaurant Merger Sub, LLC, alleging failure to exercise ordinary care to keep its premises in a reasonably safe condition.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 29, 2017, Porter was a customer at Sunshine Restaurant in Orlando when she slipped on some water on the floor and fell to the ground, causing serious and permanent physical injuries.

The plaintiff alleges Sunshine Restaurant Merger Sub failed to warn Porter of a concealed peril and failed to take action to remedy the dangerous condition.

Porter seeks trial by jury and damages exceeding $15,000. She is represented by attorney Jonathan I. Rotstein of Law Office of Rotstein & Shiffman, LLP in Daytona Beach.
