James P. Hanratty has been inducted into the membership of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). ABOTA is a national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the civil jury trial right provided by the Seventh Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Membership is by invitation-only, and is reserved for trial lawyers who meet certain qualifications and have significant experience in leading civil jury trials to verdict.
Mr. Hanratty is the Managing Attorney of Marshall Dennehey’s Jacksonville office. An experienced litigator, he defends individuals, insurance companies and major corporations in complex litigation within a variety of practice areas. He has tried over 150 civil jury trials throughout his 20+ year career and has served as statewide trial counsel. His diverse clientele includes insurers, hospitals, and manufacturers of household products and industrial machinery, as well as downstream retailers in product liability actions involving vehicles and component parts.
Mr. Hanratty is rated AV® Preeminent™ by Martindale-Hubbell® and holds memberships with the Florida and Jacksonville Bar Associations as well as the Florida Defense Lawyers Association. He received his juris doctor from the University of Akron School of Law and is licensed to practice in all Federal District Courts of Florida.
