CLEARWATER — A Pinellas County woman is suing a Clearwater salon, alleging breach of duty and negligence.

Michelle Claudio filed a complaint Nov. 14 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against hair stylist Joanne Vallejo, individually, and Salon Bravo LLC, alleging the defendants failed breached their duty to use reasonable care to plan and provide follow-up for the plaintiff's hair treatment.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 28, 2017, Claudio was at Salon Bravo in Clearwater for a hair smoothing and straitening treatment. However, Claudio alleges the reasonable and appropriate protocol and due care were not used by Vallejo when providing the treatment, resulting in the plaintiff's hair's being burned and turning orange in color.

As a result, Claudio says, she suffered pain, mental anguish and required time-consuming and expensive remedial hair repair treatments.

The plaintiff alleges Vallejo and Salon Bravo failed to follow the applicable industry standards in selecting the reasonable and appropriate products for Claudio's hair treatment.

Claudio seeks trial by jury, judgment in excess of $15,000, plus costs, interest and all other just and proper relief. She is represented by attorney Joshua T. Chilson of Johnson, Pope, Boko, Ruppel & Burns, LLP in Clearwater.
