Orlando property owner alleges insurance company failed to cover water damage

ORLANDO — An Orlando property owner is suing a licensed insurer, alleging breach of an insurance policy.

Nicole Charles filed a complaint Nov. 13 in Orange County Circuit Court against Security First Insurance Company doing business as Security First of Florida, alleging failure to perform under terms of the contract.

According to the complaint, on July 3, Charles' property at 6554 Meritmoor Circle, Orlando, was damaged by water due to a leaking pipe. Charles said she timely notified Secuirty First of the loss for which she sought payment pursuant to the terms of the policy. 

The plaintiff alleges a Security First of Florida has failed to pay the requested amounts to repair and/or replace the damage to her property.

Charles seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, exclusive of interest, court costs and attorney fees. She is represented by attorney Thomas J. Morgan Jr. of Morgan Law Group PA in Coral Gables.
