Customer alleges Winn-Dixie negligence caused fall

CLEARWATER — A customer and her husband are suing Winn-Dixie, alleging negligence led to injuries for the wife.

Deborah Saeedi and Hameed Saeedi filed a complaint Nov. 12 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Winn-Dixie Stores Inc., and store general manager Shaun Thompson, alleging failure to maintain the store premises in a reasonably safe condition.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 22, 2017, Deborah Saeedi was an customer at the Winn-Dixie store in Safety Harbor when she slipped and fell. The suit says Saeedi sustained bodily injuries, resulting in pain, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish and loss of enjoyment of life. Hameed Saeedi alleges loss of consortium.  

The plaintiffs allege Winn-Dixie Stores and Thompson negligently permitted a foreign substance to remain in the store premises for a sufficient period of time.

The Saeedis seek trial by jury and damages that exceed $15,000. They are represented by attorney Justin W. Pimenta of Abrahamson & Uiterwyk in Tampa.
