CLEARWATER — A Pinellas County woman is suing Largo apartment complex operators, alleging negligence caused injuries to the plaintiff.

Lisa Bearse filed a complaint Nov. 8 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Rajendra Persaud and Ann Persaud, alleging they negligently permitted a picnic table to remain in a poor condition for a sufficient length of time.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 5, 2017, Bearse was an invitee at the defendants' apartment complex, 2463 Elyria Ave., Largo when the picnic table she was sitting on broke and caused her to fall. The suit says Bearse sustained bodily injuries, pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, medical and nursing care and expenses for treatment.

The plaintiff alleges the Persauds failed to timely repair or replace the damaged picnic table and failed to give adequate warning of the existing danger.

Bearse seeks trial by jury, damages in excess $15,000, exclusive of interest, court costs and attorney fees. She is represented by attorneys Christian Denmon, Lee Pearlman and Andrew Mallory, of Denmon Pearlman, in St. Petersburg.
