ORLANDO — A widow is suing Orlando nursing home administrators, alleging negligence caused her husband's death.

Sylvia Partin, as personal representative of the estate of Donald Partin, deceased, filed a complaint Oct. 24 in Orange County Circuit Court against Orlando Rehabilitation Group Inc., doing business as Orlando Health and Rehabilitation Center, and administrator Trentino Manco, alleging they breached their mandated duty not to violate the nursing home resident’s rights.

According to the complaint, in June 2016, Donald Partin became a resident at the Orlando Health and Rehabilitation Center nursing home facility. As a result of the defendants' negligence, the suit says, Partin sustained serious bodily injuries, disability, pain and suffering, mental and emotional distress and aggravation of a previous existing condition, all resulting in his death.

Sylvia Parftin says she incurred medical and funeral expenses. She alleges Orlando Health and Rehabilitation Center and Manco failed to protect her husband from physical, mental and psychological harm and failed to provide adequate and appropriate health care services.

The plaintiff seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, exclusive of interest, court costs and attorney fees. She is represented by attorney Jason A. Paul of Paul & Perkins PA in Maitland.
