Medical care provider alleges Geico failed to cover losses

ORLANDO — A medical provider is suing Geico, alleging breach of contract.

Park Lake Physical Medicine LLC, doing business as Integrative Physical Medicine and Emily Ridgeway filed a complaint Oct. 19 in Orange County Circuit Court against Geico General Insurance Company, alleging refusal to pay the plaintiff's losses.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 17, 2017, Ridgeway was injured in a motor vehicle accident. The suit says she sustained injuries and incurred various medical and hospital expenses. 

At the time of the accident, the lawsuit alleges, Ridgeway's automobile insurance policy issued by Geico and was in full force and effect. Integrative Physical Medicine is an assignee of Ridgeway and has received an assignment of benefits from her. 

The plaintiff alleges Geico General Insurance has refused to pay for certain medical care provided by Integrative Physical Medicine in relation to the auto accident.

Integrative Physical Medicine seeks trial by jury, judgment for personal injury protection benefits, medical payment benefits and extended medical benefits, with interest, court costs and attorney fees. It is represented by attorney Richard Oliver Hale of Hale, Hale & Jacobson PA in Orlando.
