Pinellas County company seeks records from DNA information business

CLEARWATER — A PInellas County company is suing a DNA information business, alleging failure to deliver requested records.

Helix GS LLC filed a complaint Oct. 29 in the Pinellas County Circuit Court against Gene 2 Know LLC, alleging that the defendant has ignored the plaintiff's records request.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 2, Helix GS sought to inspect and copy records pursuant to Florida laws and the company's operating agreement from Gene 2 Know. 

On Oct. 12, the suit says, Gene 2 Know indicated it would produce the Helix records but 10 days have passed and the documents still were not provided. 

The plaintiff alleges Gene 2 Know has failed to produced any records responsive to the records request or provided Helix with a date, time and location when Helix can inspect and copy the records requested.

Helix GS seeks trial by jury, an order for the inspection and copy of the records, costs, including reasonable attorney fees, incurred by Helix to obtain such order and all other just and proper relief.
