CLEARWATER — A motorist is suing another driver and a vehicle owner, alleging their negligence caused a crash that injured the plaintiff.

Michael D. Burroughs filed a complaint Oct. 26 in Pinellas Circuit Court against vehicle owner Karen J. Pereiro and driver Brooke Pereiro, alleging Brooke Pereiro failed to operate the vehicle in a careful and prudent manner.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 6, 2017, Burroughs was involved in an auto collision near the intersection of First Avenue South and 37th Street South in St. Petersburg because Brooke Pereiro negligently operated a motor vehicle so that it collided with the plaintiff’s car.

The suit says Burroughs sustained bodily injuries, resulting in pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life and medical expenses.

Burroughs seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, exclusive of interest, court costs and attorney fees. He is represented by attorney Christian Denmon of Denmon Pearlman in St. Petersburg.
