CLEARWATER — An Orlando property owner is suing a licensed insurer, alleging breach of an insurance policy.

Remy White filed a complaint Oct. 17 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Safe Harbor Insurance Company, alleging failure to acknowledge that additional payments would be forthcoming.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 10, 2017, White's property at 762 Kings Cove Court, Orlando, sustained damage from Hurricane Irma. White said she notified Safe Harbor that she was in disagreement with defendant's evaluation of the loss and requested a supplemental payment.

The plaintiff alleges Safe Harbor Insurance failed to make any additional payment of insurance proceeds to White.

White seeks trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000, prejudgment interest, attorney fees and court costs. She is represented by attorneys Stephanie Balint and Robert L. Gioia, of Homeowner Legal Solutions LP in Plantation.
