ORLANDO — A Polk County motorist is suing another driver, alleging negligence caused a crash that injured the plaintiff.

Damaris Concepcion filed a complaint Oct. 12 in Orange County Circuit court against Valerie Rosado-Rodriguez, alleging the defendant failed to follow applicable safety guidelines and regulations.

According to the complaint, in late October 2015, Concepcion was driving a motor vehicle in Orlando, when it was struck by another vehicle operated by Rosado-Rodriguez.  As a result of the defendant's negligence, the suit says, Concepcion sustained bodily injuries, resulting in pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses, loss of earnings and aggravation of a previous existing condition.

The plaintiff alleges Rosado-Rodriguez failed to adequately maintain and operate a motor vehicle so as not to cause harm, and failed to be on a proper lookout for other vehicles.

Concepcion seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, court costs, interest and all further just relief. She is represented by attorney Philip J. Slotnick of Burnetti PA in Lakeland.
