ORLANDO — Two Orlando property owners are suing an insurer, alleging breach of an insurance contract.

Yolanda Roman and Pablo Roman filed a complaint Oct. 12 in Orange County Circuit Court against American Integrity Insurance Company of Florida, alleging failure to pay for water damage.

According to the complaint, on March 23, while the Romans' property insurance was in full force and effect, it sustained a loss as a result of water damage at 1529 Abberton Drive, Orlando. The suit says although American Integrity agreed to provide insurance coverage to the damaged property it has failed to issue payment for the total amount necessary to recover all damages.

The plaintiffs allege American Integrity Insurance has failed to provide coverage for the loss under the terms of the policy, failed to acknowledge that payment would be forthcoming, and failed to make adequate payment of insurance proceeds to the insured.

The Romans seek trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, plus interest, court costs and attorney fees. They are represented by attorney Alexandra Ramon of Ramon, Rodriguez, Blanco-Herrera LLP in Miami.
