ORLANDO — A man is suing John Doe, Airport Chrysler Doge Jeep LLC, Citizens Bank NA and Citizens One Auto Finance, various entities, citing alleged fraud and negligence.
Richard Harary filed a complaint on Oct. 11 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida-Orange County against the defendants alleging that defendants bank and dealership breached their duty to protect the general public, including plaintiff, from identity theft.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that n June 9, 2018, defendant Doe impersonated plaintiff, obtained a loan in his name and ultimately drove away with a vehicle worth over $55,000. Plaintiff became liable for that amount, as well as for late charges and other penalties that had been and will be added to the loan amount. The plaintiff holds John Doe, Airport Chrysler Doge Jeep LLC, Citizens bank NA and Citizens One Auto Finance responsible because defendant Doe presented dealership with a fake Florida driver’s license and defendants bank and dealership negligently allowed Doe to obtain an auto loan of more than $55,000 in his name.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in excess of $15,000 exclusive of interest and costs and any other relief deemed just. He is represented by Douglas J. Giuliano of Giuliano Law PA in Orlando.
