Wellness company accuses massage therapists of defamation

ORLANDO — An Orange County wellness company is suing two licensed massage therapists, alleging defamation.

Azul Welleness LLC, doing business as Orlando Float & Massage, filed a complaint Oct. 11 in Orange County Circuit Court against Ashley Olivia and Alliana Thomas, alleging they published false statements about the plaintiff on the Glassdoor.com website.

According to the complaint, since the false statement by the defendants were published online, Orlando Float & Massage has been damaged by experiencing trouble recruiting a new licensed massage therapist. 

The plaintiff alleges that after their termination from Orlando Float & Massage employment due to tardiness, Olivia and Thomas intentionally made false statements against the plaintiff to damage its reputation.

Orlando Float & Massage seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,001 and all other just and equitable relief. It is represented by attorneys Maurice Arcadier, Stephen Biggie, Joseph C. Wood and Ethan B. Babb of Arcadier, Biggie & Wood PLLC in Melbourne.
