ORLANDO — A Winter Garden property owner is suing a liability insurer, alleging breach of an insurance contract.

Virginia Cruz-Seda filed a complaint Oct. 4 in Orange County Circuit Court against Security First Insurance Company, alleging failure to honor its contractual obligations in paying for water damage.

According to the complaint, on April 5, Cruz-Seda's residence at 14722 Siplin Road, Winter Garden, suffered physical damage due to water discharged from the kitchen. She says she promptly reported the loss and made a claim to Security First but failed to receive payment for the total loss.

The plaintiff alleges Security First Insurance has rejected to pay the total amount of damages and has completely denied coverage.

Cruz-Seda seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, exclusive of interest, court costs and attorney fees. She is represented by attorneys Hunter Patterson, Alicia Perez and Michael Patrick of Strems Law Firm in Orlando.
