ORLANDO — An Orange County man is suing a motorist, alleging his negligence caused a crash that injured the plaintiff.

Omar Santiago Ortiz filed a complaint Oct. 4 in Orange County Circuit Court against Craig Destefano, alleging the driver failed to keep proper control of his vehicle.

According to the complaint, on July 17, 2017, Ortiz was driving west on Hoffner Avenue in Orange County. The suit says Destefano negligently drove his vehicle and collided with Ortiz's automobile.

Ortiz says he sustained serious and permanent injuries, resulting in pain and suffering, disability, loss of earnings, medical expenses and loss of enjoyment of life. The plaintiff alleges Destefano failed to avoid colliding with Ortiz's vehicle.

Ortiz seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, exclusive of interest, court costs and attorney fees. He is represented by attorney Chad S. Lucas of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
