CLEARWATER — A parent and minor child are suing an Ohio motorist, alleging negligence caused a crash.

Leslie Woods, parent and legal guardian Anthony Means, a minor child, filed a complaint Oct. 4 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Eugene Johnson of Brown County, Ohio, alleging Johnson failed to operate his motor vehicle in a reasonably prudent and careful manner.

According to the complaint, on March 19, 2017, Leslie Woods was operating her vehicle with Anthony Means as her passenger on Interstate Highway 75 when they were struck by Johnson's 2013 Ford.

As a result of the collision, the suit says, the plaintiffs suffered bodily injuries disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life, plus the expense of hospitalization, medical and nursing care and treatment.

The plaintiffs allege Johnson negligently maintained, operated and/or controlled his Ford such that it collided with the vehicle operated by Leslie Woods.

Woods and Means seek trial by jury, damages, plus costs, pre- and post-judgment interest and all other just relief. They are represented by Paul Puzzanghera and Christopher L. Hamblen of Puzzanghera Law Offices in Clearwater.
