Customer alleges Wawa's negligence led to injuries

CLEARWATER — A customer is suing Wawa, alleging negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.

Aleta M. D'Angelo filed a complaint Sept. 28 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Wawa Inc., alleging the convenience store operator failed to maintain and provide a reasonably safe premises for invitees.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 25, 2014, D'Angelo was a customer at the Wawa store, 12750 Walsingham Road, Largo, when she was caused to slip and fall on a greasy and/or wet floor. The suit says D'Angelo sustained injuries to her left knee, head, neck, body and limbs as well as disfigurement and mental anguish. 

The plaintiff alleges Wawa negligently permitted the unsafe and dangerous condition to remain and failed to warn the public about the wet floor.

D'Angelo seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, plus interest, court costs and liquidated damages. She is represented by attorney Michael P. Perenich of Clearwater.
