ORLANDO — A customer is suing Family Dollar Stores, alleging negligence led to the plaintiff falling.

Angel Martinez filed a complaint Sept. 20 in Orange County Circuit Court against Family Dollar Stores Inc., alleging failure to follow applicable safety guidelines and regulations.

According to the complaint, on May 24, 2017, Martinez was at a Family Dollar store in Orlando. The suit says Martinez slipped and fell on a slippery floor surface, sustaining serious and permanent injuries, including pain and suffering, disability, mental anguish, loss of the capacity for the enjoyment of life and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Family Dollar Stores failed to warn Martinez of the dangerous condition, failed to properly provide training to its employees regarding the proper maintenance and inspection of the premises, and failed to correct the dangerous condition of its property.

Martinez seeks trial by jury, damages that exceed $15,000, exclusive of costs, attorney fees and all other just relief. He is represented by attorney Diego M. Madrigal III of The Pendas Law Firm in Orlando.
