Customer accuses St. Petersburg boat dealer of fraud

CLEARWATER — A Pennsylvania customer is suing a St. Petersburg boat dealer, alleging negligent misrepresentation.

Mitch Reddy of Villanova, Pennsylvania, filed a complaint Sept. 14 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Bob Hodge Marine Group LLC, alleging the dealer falsely represented to the plaintiff that the vessel's full service records were available.

According to the complaint, due to Bob Hodge's misrepresentations, Reddy has incurred unnecessary costs and expenses, including travel expenses and cost for a pre-purchase inspection, for the Chris-Craft 43-foot Roamer that he was planning to buy.

The plaintiff alleges Bob Hodge Marine Group made numerous material misrepresentations that the vessel had always been meticulously maintained.

Reddy seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, with interest, court costs and attorney fees. He is represented by attorneys Scott A. Kuhn and Christopher E. Hewitt of Kuhn Law Firm PA in Fort Myers.
