ORLANDO — A hotel guest is suing Comfort Suites, alleging negligence led to the plaintiff suffering head injuries.
John Sheeran filed a complaint Sept. 17 in Orange County Circuit Court against University Hospitality II LLC and Choice Hotels International Inc., doing business as Comfort Suites, alleging failure to use due care to maintain its premises in a safe condition.
According to the complaint, on July 26, 2016, Sheeran was at the Comfort Inn, 12101 Challenger Parkway, Orlando, as a guest. The suit says Sheeran slipped and hit his head due to the hazardous condition of the floor of the hotel's laundry room.
As a result, Sheeran says, he sustained bodily injury, mental and/or psychological disorders, and resulting pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses and loss of earnings.
The plaintiff alleges Comfort Suites failed to properly construct a safe environment for its invitees, failed to properly maintain a safe walkway, failed to properly inspect the walkway, and failed to warn invitees of an existing dangerous condition.
Sheeran seeks trial by jury, damages that exceed $15,000, exclusive of costs, plus attorney fees and all further just relief. He is represented by attorney Michael Bryan Sanchez of The Pendás Law Firm in Orlando.
