CLEARWATER — A Clearwater woman is suing a St. Petersburg motorist, alleging his negligence caused a vehicle crash.

Ruby Ramirez Hernandez filed a complaint Sept. 26 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against John Theodore Mavros, alleging the motorist failed to exercise standard care and skill in operating a vehicle.

According to the complaint, on April 4, Hernandez was driving in Clearwater when she was run into by a vehicle negligently driven by Mavros. The suit says Hernandez sustained bodily injury, resulting in pain and suffering, disfigurement, disability, inconvenience, aggravation of a pre-existing condition, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, loss of use of the vehicle during the repair period, plus medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Mavros failed to adequately maintain and operate a motor vehicle so as not to cause harm, and failed to keep a proper lookout for other vehicles.

Hernandez seeks trial by jury, damages that exceed $15,000, plus costs, prejudgment interest and all other appropriate relief. She is represented by attorney Alina M. Morros of Fiol Law Group PA in Tampa.
