ORLANDO — A former patient is suing CFP Physicians Group, citing alleged breach of duty and negligence.
Daniel W. Brown Sr. filed a complaint on Sept. 12, in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County, against CFP Physicians Group, alleging that the providers breached their duty to treat plaintiff with the standard of care expected of a physicians’ group.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 13, 2016, he was being treated for a broken heel, when he allegedly suffered paralysis and required additional medical care. He claims to have suffered pain, discomfort and humiliation. He alleges to have incurred medical expenses.
The plaintiff holds CFP Physicians Group responsible because the defendant allegedly discontinued his anticoagulant drug despite his high risk for developing a clot in his immobile leg.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages exceeding $15,000, and award for all amounts found due. He is represented by William E. Ruffier of Dellecker Wilson King McKenna Ruffier & Sos in Orlando.
