ORLANDO — An association president is suing Ed Cushman and Automotive Service Association, board member and employer, alleging defamation.

Dan Risley of Illinois filed a complaint on Sept. 12, in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County, against the defendants alleging that they wrongfully made false statement about him during a board meeting in Orlando.

The plaintiff alleges that as a direct result of Cushman's statements, he has suffered damages.

The plaintiff holds Ed Cushman and Automotive Service Association responsible, because Cushman wrongfully accused him of engaging in sexual misconduct.

Risley claims that  Automotive Service Association  is liable for the defamatory statements because they were made in Cushman's official capacity as board member during the association's annual meeting in May.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $15,000, exclusive of interest, costs and and for all further relief the court deems just.

He is represented by Frank Edel Blanco of The Law Offices of Frank E. Blanco in Orlando, Florida.
